AMERICAS – Sales, PR and Marketing agency, Axis Travel Marketing, who represent a range of meeting and incentive and travel destinations, brought the Accra Beach Hotel and Spa to the UK for its first ever UK MICE roadshow.
Teaming up with the Barbados Tourism Authority, Accra Beach Hotel and Spa toured the UK, meeting with 40 meeting, event and incentive planners, PCOs, associations and venue finders including Zibrant, Grassroots, Meetings and Incentives and AYMTM. The business development drive has already generated one large association lead for the four-star hotel, with agencies reporting a rejuvenated incentive market and boom in enquiries.
“Barbados has always had a strong presence in the UK leisure market, but we are still a fairly new commodity when it comes to meeting and incentive travel,” said Sales Manager of the Accra Beach Hotel and Spa, Debbie Bartlett. “This roadshow has not only been educational for us, but also enormously encouraging.
“UK agencies are confident that the incentive market is on the up, and that the Caribbean is a strong contender in this sector. The last week has been an opportunity for us to look at how we can improve our client offering to the market, as well as bolster our trade relations,” she added.
The Accra Beach Hotel and Spa spans 3.5 acres, has 224 guest rooms and 604sqm of meeting and events, a spa and fitness centre and five restaurants and bars.
