Washington DC-based RJ Whyte Event Production (RJ Whyte) announced the acquisition, 15 September, of BRAVO! Events, a US creative events and strategic experiential company. As part of the agreement, BRAVO! founder and CEO Nancy Shaffer (pictured) assumes a new leadership role within RJ Whyte as chief creative officer. Shaffer established BRAVO! in 1997 and has 30 years of experience producing creative designs for clients across the US. She is also board president for the National Live Events Coalition and founding member of the DC Events Coalition. BRAVO!, under Shaffer’s leadership, has been a partner of RJ Whyte providing strategic solutions and contemporary aesthetics. Her experience with association and corporate clients will look to complement RJ Whyte’s work with non-profits, the arts, and social clients. Established in 2010, RJ Whyte has quickly become an innovative force in Washington DC’s special events industry. The agency’s portfolio of work includes broadcast productions as well as in-person and virtual event activations for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Washington Performing Arts, N Street Village, Bozzuto Management Company, Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington, and National Geographic. The acquisition of BRAVO! represents an expansion for RJ Whyte, diversifying the team’s experience among clients like Google, AARP, and the INOVA Health System. Shaffer’s new role will include oversees brand communication for clients, discovery and design, and will work with stakeholders to achieve goals through creative storytelling in live and virtual events. She will continue to serve as president of the Live Events Coalition and will retain her position on the board of EnventU, a pipeline to professions in the event industry for youth. Rodger J. Whyte, founder and principal of Roger J. Whyte, commented: “Nancy is a remarkably creative thinker and a respected mentor. Everyone we serve has much to gain from this new professional relationship.”
