A new specialist MICE unit, Meetings Sofia has ben officially launched within Bulgaria’s capital’s tourism board, Visit Sofia. The move signals Sofia Tourism Administration’s intent to develop and support business and conference events in the MICE sector.
Meetings Sofia has been set up to serve as a central point of contact for event planners looking to organise meetings, conferences, congresses, and incentive programmes in the Bulgarian capital.
Services will include access to a network of venues and trusted local suppliers, support in identifying suitable partners such as hotels, PCOs and DMCs, and assistance with site inspections and coordination with local stakeholders. The department will also provide promotional materials, support in preparing presentations and bids, and connections to academic institutions and industry networks. All services are provided free of charge.
The bureau will use the new Sofia Event Planners’ Guide, presented by Visit Sofia in 2025, as a valuable tool for event organisers. The catalogue is available in a digital format on visitsofia.bg, as well as in a printed edition.
