AUSTRALIA – The Cairns Convention Centre (CCC) has been awarded Gold Certification in the International Association of Congress Centres’ (AIPC) Quality Standards programme.

AIPC has 160 member venues from 53 different countries and Cairns is one of 13 members to have achieved the Gold qualification. This is in addition to their recent ISO 9001 and EarthCheck certifications.

The Quality Standards process assesses 10 key areas including customer service, quality of facilities and operations, employee relations, health, safety, security and emergency response, financial integrity, community relations, environmental responsibility, industry and supplier relations.

“With more convention centres and destinations coming into the market every year, the question of how a client can assess the capabilities of any given product is becoming more and more important,” said AIPC President Edgar Hirt.
