At IMEX America 2025, Destination Canada (along with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) presented joint measures aimed at simplifying cross-border event planning.

An IRCC representative joined Destination Canada’s stand to provide on-site guidance to organisers about entry and visa requirements. The collaboration is part of ongoing efforts to clarify travel processes for international delegates.

Destination Canada also launched a short informational video developed with IRCC. The resource explains visa and electronic travel authorisation (eTA) procedures step by step, helping planners understand eligibility and timelines before registration.

Forty Canadian destinations were represented under the Canada, Naturally brand. The stand focused on logistical transparency and accessibility – two areas that have previously caused concern for some planners working with international audiences.

Virginie De Visscher, executive director of business events at Destination Canada, said the initiative aimed to give organisers “practical tools” to navigate Canada’s entry system.

The collaboration follows broader government efforts to position Canada as a more accessible destination for business events, addressing previous perceptions of complex entry procedures.
