ASIA – Centara Hotels and Resorts is expanding its presence in Southern Thailand with the acquisition of the management contract for Khao Lak Seaview Resort and Spa, which will be renamed Centara Seaview Resort Khao Lak this summer.

Centra Hotels and Resorts says a programme of upgrades and renovations is now underway to ensure that the resort is in compliance with its four-star core brand.

“We are proud to be announcing the addition of this property to our portfolio,” says Chief Executive Officer of Centara Hotels and Resorts, Thirayuth Chirathivat. “The resort is located at Nang Thong, which is fast becoming the prime resort centre of Khao Lak, and it has an extensive beachfront area.

“This is our first property in Khao Lak, a destination that we see as strategic for our future growth in Southern Thailand. We have seven properties in Phuket and two in Krabi, and further expansion will be announced in the near future for both the Andaman coast and the Gulf of Thailand.”

The resort, which originally opened on 1 November 2008, can host up to 400 guests for cocktails or in theatre-style in its largest function room. The resort’s conference room can host up to 200 people and can be divided into three smaller rooms.

The resort has 218 rooms, dining facilities that include an all-day restaurant serving Thai and international foods and a Spa Cenvaree.
