Strategic meetings and events management agency, cievents, has appointed Martin Rottiné as Business Leader of its UK-based Meetings Division. For the last 15 years Rottiné has held the role of International Team Manager at CCD Global Events where he was responsible for the agency’s outbound MICE and venue sourcing business. He has also spent six years in various event manager and corporate sales positions in the UK and Australia, including Edwardian Hotels and Hilton Hotels. Rottiné will now be responsible for a team of six venue sourcing consultants and says: “I am looking forward to growing this side of cievents’ business and in particular enhancing our technology and online solutions as well as improving efficiency and productivity for our clients.” “I am delighted to welcome Martin to cievents. The meetings and venue sourcing side of our business is key pillar of cievents and Martin’s extensive expertise across the hotel and MICE industry will give our meetings division a renewed drive and focus,” adds Lucy Francis, UK General Manager, cievents. The agency has also announced a new business win, having been appointed by RSA Insurance Group to provide full event management, venue sourcing and conference services for the company’s UK and Group Corporate Centre operations from 5 March 2019. The move, says cievents, is part of RSA’s strategy to streamline services, improve compliance and reduce leakage as just 33% of MICE spend was being booked via the company’s incumbent agency. The companies hope also to consolidate combined event and travel spend, maximising economies of scale and consistency of servicing. RSA’s business travel programme has been managed by cievents’ sister division FCM Travel Solutions since July 2018. Sarah Morrison, RSA Procurement Category Manager comments: “We were looking for an events agency that would be consistent in terms of venue availability, service levels, and provide a holistic solution that ensured consolidated invoicing, appropriate and consistent terms and conditions for each venue or event… There are also major advantages in terms of consolidating RSA’s entire business travel and MICE spend because we have one-stop-shop access via the FCM Hub portal.” Simon Hubbard, Business Development Manager, cievents says: “We are delighted to have been appointed by RSA and look forward to not only providing full event management services, but also helping RSA consolidate their meetings and travel spend together with our sister division FCM Travel Solutions, reduce significantly the leakage they have experienced up to now and improve compliance in terms of venue booking.”
