AMERICAS – Technology supplier Smart City Networks has announced a renewal of its contract with the Colorado Convention Center (CCC) for up to six years. The new agreement with the technology supplier is expected to result in the doubling of the venue’s wireless network capacity.

“Smart City has been our longtime partner providing robust technology solutions to the hundreds of thousands of visitors who come to the Colorado Convention Center every year, ensuring that they have the Internet connectivity they expect and demand,” said John Adams, the CCC’s General Manager.

“Meeting the growing technology needs of the event industry, as well as the connectivity requirements of its attendees, remains our number one priority,” said Mark Haley, President of Smart City Networks. “We’re proud of the confidence that the Colorado Convention Center has in our capabilities and services. We look forward to continuing to serve the facility as its technology partner, ensuring it has the most advanced and reliable networks to keep their customers connected.”

Led locally by Debbie Olivas, GM for technology services, Smart City Networks will install a significant upgrade to the CCC’s Wi-Fi network. As a part of this upgrade, Smart City will double the capacity of the existing wireless network by adding wireless controllers, edge switches and additional access points, allowing for more people and more devices to connect to the Wi-Fi network simultaneously. Free Wi-Fi service will also be available at street level, in all common spaces and meeting rooms.

Smart City will also continue to provide high-speed Internet access using Ethernet protocols to all exhibition spaces and meeting rooms, and turnkey data networking services, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs) and private networks using the latest technology.

Smart City Networks claims it is the USA’s largest provider of event telecommunications and technology in the convention industry. The company provides technology services to 3,000 conventions and meetings annually and serves 35 convention and meeting facilities across the USA.
