Connect@Changi, purpose-built accommodation designed to facilitate safe meetings between international business travellers, has welcomed its first batch of guests since its official opening last month. Among the first international business travellers to book a stay at the pilot short-stay facility was Olivier Leroux (pictured checking in), CEO & president of Oasis Smart Sim, a French and Singapore based company providing certified eSIM, iSIM and Cloud SIM solutions. He had flown in from France on 8 March 2021 for a five-day stay at the facility, during which he expects to conduct 4-5 business meetings with his team based in Singapore, as well as business associates and partners in Singapore. “I am very pleased that the team at Connect@Changi is arranging everything to make my arrival and stay as smooth and comfortable as possible. Given that we have operations in Singapore, I need to be able to travel to conduct face-to-face meetings with the team based in Singapore, as well as process some paperwork – and Connect@Changi offers that possibility. I am excited to discover the facilities,” Leroux said. Other confirmed guests checking into Connect@Changi include business travellers from Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates. Business travellers residing at Connect@Changi can meet their Singapore-based counterparts as well as guests from other countries safely, in specially designed meeting rooms outfitted with air-tight glass panels to reduce the risk of virus transmission. Large-scale video conferences can also be held at the facility which is next to the airpot. All foreign travellers checking into Connect@Changi are required to go through a rigorous Covid-19 testing regime throughout their stay and other innovative solutions to minimise contact between guests and frontline staff include pre-installed shelves located outside guest rooms for meals to be delivered. Room rate starts at SGD384 (US$285), which is inclusive of three meals, mini-bar, toiletries, Wi-Fi, two-way airport transfer as well as Covid-19 tests required during the course of the stay.
