Global meetings and hospitality company Convene will open a 32,000sqft venue at 555 Broadway in spring 2026, expanding its extensive New York portfolio into the SoHo district. The new space, located on the second floor of the Scholastic Building, can accommodate up to 450 guests across seven meeting and event areas.

These include a 252-person main hall, a 16-person boardroom, five smaller studios and three gallery spaces for networking and exhibitions.

“The SoHo submarket has been one of the most requested destinations from our existing clientele,” said Brian Holland, senior vice-president of real estate at Convene. “[Scholastic Building] is one of SoHo’s most iconic buildings.”

The venue will target the neighbourhood’s fashion, technology and media industries with flexible layouts and AV production capabilities including rigging and trussing. Convene 555 Broadway will be the company’s 16th New York location.

The global hospitality firm operates nearly 40 venues across nine cities through its Convene and etc.venues brands.

The venue will feature a dedicated retail entrance and custom branding opportunities throughout. One studio includes movable walls to create a larger contiguous gallery space. The deal includes branding rights on the building exterior.

Design will be handled by Convene’s in-house team with New York firm Marlo & Kroft. The concept draws inspiration from bookmaking to honour the building’s Scholastic heritage, incorporating grids, lines and structured elements alongside exposed materials reflecting SoHo’s artist loft aesthetic.

The venue will offer Convene’s standard package including on-site hospitality teams, in-house catering, integrated AV technology with high-resolution screens and theatrical lighting, and partnerships with external vendors for entertainment and décor.

“In a world of hybrid-work, in-person corporate gatherings are increasingly important,” Holland said.
