“If an opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door – and that’s what we’ve done. It’s time to move forward together and collaborate; it’s the key to growth and accelerated recovery.” – Amelia Roziman, Acting CEO, BESarawak.

Amid the lingering pandemic, collaboration is proving to be a key strategy to get the cogs moving for Sarawak. Various initiatives are rolled out and ready to give planners extra support, futureproof local industry partners and align business event goals with Government aspirations.

Incentives for all types of Business Events – available for hybrid events too.
BESarawak’s Incentivised Packages for Conventions & Exhibitions and Corporate Meetings & Corporate Incentives support hybrid events, with additional financial support on top of value boosters that help planners organise multisensory event experiences in line with the new normal protocols. Applicable from now until end of 2022.

New Normal Protocols and Support in place.
Sarawak is implementing strict measures at every event such as compulsory temperature checks, visitor check-ins, food safety measures, reduced touch points and daily surface cleaning. BESarawak is offering planners with support such as Delegate Wellness Packs to boost delegate confidence when attending an in-person event.

Strengthening Services and Professionalism.
Sarawak’s industry partners are fast to adapt and apply event technology into hybrid meeting models. To fortify their knowledge and skillsets, many are getting internationally certified to strengthen the level of services and professionalism offered to planners.

BESLegacy Initiative Ready for Planners.

Start planning your convention legacy using Business Events Sarawak Legacy Initiative (BESLegacy Initiative). The Initiative is recognised and supported by International Congress & Convention Association (ICCA) and will be an essential tool for convention planners to make a lasting positive impact on the sector and society.

Strongest Government Collaboration and Support.
The Sarawak Government officially gazetted business events as a sector to materialise non-economic aspirations since 2020. These aspirations take a look at how business events can help to develop urban and rural communities, improve public policies and services, and conserve biodiversity among other aspirations. This level of government endorsement can unlock new assets for planners.
