The closest US city to the UK, Boston offers visitors everything they could want from an authentic US experience – from seafood to shopping to sporting events and sightseeing, the city has it all. From the downtown core to the outlying neighbourhoods, visitors find that Boston is a city of intriguing diversity. With a mix of colonial charm and urban sophistication, the city is rich in history with great dining and nightlife, and a vibrant arts and cultural community spanning numerous neighbourhoods, making it a dynamic destination for groups and events. Great new restaurants join the mix regularly, keeping things fresh and cutting-edge. The area boasts a variety of hotel product to suit the needs of any group – from five-star boutique properties to independently owned properties, to all the major domestic and international chains, Boston can offer something for everyone. With approximately 30,000 hotel rooms, the Boston and Cambridge market offers a diverse inventory of options. This fall the first Raffles Hotel in North America will open in Boston’s Back Bay with 5 food and beverage venues, expansive meeting and pre-function space, and a rooftop terrace. In the luxury space, the Four Seasons Boston Hotel has recently completed an extensive renovation overseen by designer Ken Fulk to reimagine the lobby, front drive and restaurant concept. Meanwhile, Boston is poised to open its second citizenM Hotel in 2024.

Meeting Space

Boston boasts an ample array of meeting space, anchored by two convention centres in prime neighbourhoods and connected to thousands of hotel rooms, retail and entertainment offerings, and enticing culinary options. The Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (BCEC) features 516,000 sq. ft. of contiguous exhibit space, 82 meeting rooms, and a 40,000 sq. ft. ballroom. Just across Summer Street from the BCEC is the exquisite Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport, providing an additional 100,000 square feet of meeting and event space. In total, there are 16 hotels located in the Seaport District near the BCEC. In Boston’s iconic Back Bay neighbourhood, the Hynes Convention Center includes nearly 180,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space and 28 meeting rooms.

Airport and transportation

Boston Logan International Airport has nonstop service to 83 domestic and 54 international locations.  In August of 2023 the new international terminal – Terminal E – was unveiled after years of new construction and renovation. Logan International Airport is only three miles from the city centre, making it easy for attendees once they land. In addition, Boston conveniently has two major train depots – South Station and Back Bay Station – that offer rail connectivity throughout the East Coast with Acela service, and longer-haul service into the Midwest. Boston is known as America’s Walking City, but when you can’t get around by foot, the city is easily accessible by the “T”, Boston’s public transportation system. Special Services/Amenities/Incentives  Boston and Cambridge continue to offer a compelling winter incentive for planners and clients looking to save 10% off the master bill. For any new piece of business that actualizes between late November and 31 March, Meet Boston Hotel Partners will provide a 10% rebate back to the client. Meet Boston is also developing comprehensive sustainability, accessibility and supplier diversity modules that will assist planners to act intentionally when they book business.  These initiatives are all launching in the fall of 2023.
