WORLD – The Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI) is to launch a new series of one-hour webinars, 31 March, as well as an online learning centre.
Initial webinar topics include, ‘Measuring the buzz – best practices in social media analytics and research’ and ‘Insights on DMO corporate social responsibility’.
The DMAI has also issued a call to action to the sector to take part in its industry study to prove the impact of travel on the US economy.
DMAI board chair Dan Fenton says the association is to “develop a diversity program for the DMO industry that would focus on leadership training, advancement and organisational best practices”.
The board also believes the destination marketing landscape last year “eroded into very unfamiliar terrain”, so DMAI is now encouraging associations “to help uncover hard hitting facts to help industry professionals prove the value of travel to their community, stakeholders, and the greater public”.
