Dreamtime kicks off in Adelaide

Dreamtime 2015, Tourism Australia’s incentive product showcase, kicked off 7 December at the Adelaide Convention Centre, and again aims to shine light on Australia’s business events offering.

One hundred international buyers and media representatives were welcomed for the showcase, which is designed to bring together buyers and sellers to interact on Day One, followed by a city showcase on the second day.

The following three days are spent on educational visits to another Australian destinations.

Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains of South Australia provided the official welcome, followed by opening remarks from Tourism Australia and global airline partner Virgin Australia.

Frances-Anne Keeler, Tourism Australia’s deputy CEO, said: “We are very excited to be hosting Dreamtime in Adelaide for the first time to highlight Australia’s strengths as a business events destination.”

The business sessions of the showcase have been designed to represent the Australian landscape, and the venue includes other sensory experiences such as the Virgin Australia café and pamper area and a display of the new Virgin Australia Business Class seat.

Adelaide Convention Bureau chief executive officer, Damien Kitto, said: “South Australia is renowned for producing incredible food and wine. The convenience of Adelaide and its surrounds, and the enviable lifestyle we enjoy, has been globally recognised.”
