AMERICAS – The Ellucian Live 2013 conference for the higher education sector is expected to generate US$2m in economic benefit for Philadelphia.
The event, taking place 7-10 April at the Pennsylvania convention Center (PCC), attracted 8,500 participants from 2,400 higher education institutions around the world.
PCC Culinary Services will provide 60 dining and refreshment events throughout the conference, including a Sunday brunch, three breakfasts, two refreshment breaks each day, two lunches and a closing reception.
“The dining events, which comprise 42,518 meals, will net about US$1.9m for Aramark,” said Kimberly Parker, Director of Catering sales for PCC Culinary Services of Aramark SFS.
“We plan to feed 6,000 to 8,100 people at each major event,” Parker said. “We are bringing in employees from Florida, Mississippi and New York to work on these events. We have chefs we flew in from Canada. We have support from all over Aramark for this conference.”
