Travel management company, FCM Travel has launched FCM Proactive Analytics, a new capability that can monitor a travel programme around the clock and send in-depth analysis straight to the inbox, before small issues become budget problems. The launch marks a new way for FCM customers to work with their data, alongside interactive dashboards and a forthcoming conversational tool.

At launch, Proactive Analytics covers scheduled analysis types such as hotel spend by city, airline cost and carrier trends, route performance and traveller spend concentration – delivered weekly, monthly or quarterly. Proactive Analytics also operates within FCM’s existing governed data environment, meaning customer data is never used to train third-party AI models.

Travel managers have traditionally faced a choice between reactive dashboards that demand a login and manual query, or waiting for a scheduled report to surface a problem that has already cost money. Proactive Analytics, FCM Travel claims, is designed to remove that trade-off. It finds the customer first: no login required, no question to formulate, no manual pull. Insights are delivered directly to both customers and FCM account managers, enabling earlier intervention on costs and compliance gaps, reducing manual reporting effort, and giving travel managers narratives to bring straight into review conversations.

“A managed travel programme has always been about more than bookings – it’s about having someone in your corner who understands your business,” said Jessica Dunderdale, global head of product for FCM Travel.”

FCM added that where the data points to a bigger structural opportunity, its team can help design the fix, shifting account team relationships from retrospective reporting toward forward-looking strategic conversations. Real-time, trigger-based alerts for Proactive Analytics are also planned, helping customers respond the moment urgent issues emerge.

Coming next, FCM MCP will let customers ask questions about their travel data in natural language, inside the AI tools they already use. Over time, the idea is to extend this  by joining travel data to a customer’s own HR, sales and expense systems.
