The first homegrown business events conference for the Malaysian state of Sarawak, the Business Events Tribal Meet, known as TriBE 2018, has been hailed as a success for accelerating the state’s economic transformation through business events.
Endorsed by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports, TriBE 2018 is driven by Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB) with the support of major supplier partners, including Borneo Convention Centre Kuching.
The one-day conference takes place in Sarawak’s capital Kuching, 24 August 2018.
TriBE 2018 is supported by the International Congress and Convention Associations (ICCA) International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO), Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) and the Union of International Associations (UIA) who all take part in the Associations Fireside Chat – a deep dive into the inner mechanisms of Business Events and association management.

I am incredibly excited to forging stronger alliances within the sector, our global counterparts, and especially with other state government ministries and agencies,” said Amelia Roziman, chief operating officer of SCB.
She was referring to the debut of BESarawak Alliance, a government-to-government initiative to strengthen ties between different ministries and their agencies through Business Events, which will concurrently be launched at TriBE 2018.
