The Events Industry Council (EIC) recognised the 2019 inductees to its Hall of Leaders in Las Vegas, USA.
The new inductees included the first-ever European female nominee, Carole McKellar, HelmsBriscoe Vice President for the EMEA region.
The Hall of Leaders is a recognition programme in the meetings, conventions, exhibitions, hospitality and travel industry that recognises outstanding leaders without whom the industry would not be what it is today.
On receiving her award in Las Vegas earlier this month, McKellar said: “I applaud the efforts of the EIC to create one voice so that we can make real change happen in the industry. I am humbled by the recognition and very honoured to be among the 2019 inductees.”
Alongside her executive role with HelmsBriscoe, Carole volunteers on various committees, boards and task forces, and this year, she is the global Chair of the MPI Foundation. She is also passionate about improving inclusivity within the hospitality industry, and organizes annual efforts to support a work experience program for young adults with autism.
As a result of these efforts, there is now a school in the UK run by the National Autistic Society which has a classroom dedicated to employment in the hospitality industry.
