EUROPE – The Mediterranean island of Ibiza has launched a convention bureau.
Ibiza Tourism Board, responsible for Ibiza Convention Bureau, said it hoped to diversify the tourism product on the island and extend its current season beyond the confines of the traditional summer tourist season.
Carmen Ferrer from the island’s Office of Tourism said: “It is cost effective to hold an event in Ibiza and with a favourable climate the quieter months of April, May, September and October would be ideal for events, congresses and exhibitions.”
Large brands such as Nike, Swarovski and Volkswagen have all recently booked meetings and product launches on the sunshine island.
