Experience design agency Imagination has been partnering with Ford to launch Driving America Forward, a free two-week public experience at Union Station in Washington, D.C. The installation runs as the USA marks its 4 July and 250 anniversary year celebrations.

The experience runs through 14 July, 2026, coinciding with the height of the America 250 celebrations and offering an opportunity to walk among some of the most historically and culturally significant vehicles in American history.

Ten historic vehicles now anchor the main hall of Union Station, curated in museum-style glass displays that span over a century of automotive evolution. Curated into themes including Shaping Pop Culture, American Innovations, and 125 Years of Racing, the exhibition features rare artifacts from the Ford Heritage Fleet that trace the company’s deep roots in America’s cultural upbringing. The items on display highlight innovations ranging from landmark racing tech to wartime and humanitarian efforts.

The experience includes multiple interactive touchpoints, including a massive LED screen functions as a digital gallery. Visitors can also scan QR codes to access bespoke content and deep dive into the vehicles and artifacts on display.

“We wanted to build an experience that makes people stop and interact,” said Jennifer Grace, executive director of Imagination Detroit. “Union Station provides the perfect canvas to creatively showcase not only Ford’s manufacturing innovation across the past century, but also to tell the broader Ford story in shaping the future.”

Driving America Forward is free and open to the public daily until 14 July, 2026. Ford Brand Ambassadors are on site to welcome visitors and share exclusive merchandise.
