IMPACT, Thailand welcomes return to in-person events

IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Centre, Thailand, has welcomed the return of face-to-face events for the first time since April 2021. After Thailand opened its borders to fully vaccinated international travellers from over 63 countries on 1 November, the in-person event sector is now seeing a gradual return of activities. IMPACT has confirmed 49 events to take place between November-December. Of these events, 12 are trade and consumer exhibitions organised respectively by the government, private sector and trade associations. In addition to exhibitions, over 14 business meeting and training seminar events are also booked for during this period, reflecting the pent-up demands for face-to-face knowledge and networking exchanges. IMPACT will also be celebrating its 23rd Anniversary of operations this year. The exhibition and convention venue has over 140,000sqm of indoor space, 100,000sqm of outdoor space and two on-site hotels with over 967 rooms. Loy Joon How, general manager of IMPACT, said: “During the lockdown, we were the only exhibition and convention centre in Thailand to double up as a field hospital. In addition, we were also among the first venues to offer our facilities to be a mass vaccination centre.” Loy added that as IMPACT looks forward to a return to normality, he hopes to host over 800 events and welcome over 10m attendees annually.
