Business Events Adelaide kicked off a busy season of corporate incentive groups with the successful hosting of Infinitus JiYang (1-7 September). Prominent direct selling company Infinitus, which specialises in traditional Chinese health and wellness products, chose Adelaide ahead of several competing destinations to reward more than 1,200 of their top performing distributors. The team at Business Events Adelaide secured the group for Adelaide, with strong support provided by Tourism Australia via the Business Events Bid Fund programme. Delegates arrived in two waves during the week, staying in multiple hotels and enjoying a varied five-day itinerary that included metropolitan and regional activities in the Fleurieu Peninsula, Adelaide Hills and Barossa, business seminars, a free public wellness session and culminating in a celebration Gala Dinner at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

Business Events Adelaide chief executive officer, Damien Kitto, said: “We first won this incentive in 2018 and it was due to be held in 2020, however the bid was cancelled due to the Covid pandemic. Having maintained the relationship, it is extremely gratifying to have welcomed Infinitus and their leadership team to Adelaide.”

Previous Next Robin Mack, acting managing director of Tourism Australia, said: “We were honoured to welcome the Infinitus delegation to Adelaide. Business events are not only a powerful driver of Australia’s tourism economy, but also an important bridge for international exchange and collaboration. This recent incentive trip in Adelaide follows the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Tourism Australia and Infinitus in March this year. It is a significant step in turning our strategic partnership into tangible outcomes, showcasing first-hand the strengths of Australia as a business events destination and our unique incentive offering” Infinitus heralds the start of a series of corporate incentives visiting Adelaide this year, including further groups from Greater China, one from Malaysia, and three from India. Collectively, these will add more than A$10m to the state economy. Kitto added that affordability was a key factor in Adelaide’s attraction, with the city ranked as Australia’s most affordable capital city. “Added to that is the sheer variety of high-quality experiences less than an hour from the CBD – whether its food and wine, native wildlife, culture, team building or our beautiful landscapes and coastline, Adelaide has something to suit every taste,” Kitto noted.
