EUROPE – The new InterContinental London – The O2 on London’s Greenwich Peninsula, due to open its doors before the end of the year, is to showcase its meetings and events offering at International Confex this year.
The hotel’s team will unveil the hotel facilities at the tradeshow, which takes place at Olympia, London 18-19 February. As part of its purpose-built conference centre, the hotel will have a 3,000sqm pillar-free ballroom to rival many of Europe’s largest single event spaces.
The ballroom will be able to accommodate 3,000 guests and offer pre-function space in excess of 1,500sqm over two floors. The management says it hopes to attract large-scale conferences, exhibitions, banquets and award ceremonies to this regenerated part of the capital.
The 18-storey hotel will offer riverside views of The O2 and Canary Wharf through floor-to-ceiling glass windows within the pre-function area.
