International Confex has launched two new cross-sector industry surveys designed to uncover how venues and organisers are adapting to the changing demands of the global events industry in 2026 and beyond.

The surveys form part of a wider research initiative exploring the future of venue sourcing, procurement, commercial priorities and organiser expectations across the meetings, events and exhibition sectors.

As pressure continues to grow around sustainability, tighter budgets, technology investment and attendee expectations, the initiative aims to provide a clearer picture of what both organisers and venues need from one another moving forward.

The first survey, the Venue Trends & Commercial Priorities Survey, focuses on venues, hotels, destinations and event spaces, exploring the biggest commercial pressures, investment priorities and operational shifts shaping the sector.

The second, the Venue Procurement & Sourcing Survey, has been developed for organisers and buyers across corporate, agency, association and exhibition events to better understand how venue decisions are being made in 2026.

Topics explored across the surveys include:

  • Venue sourcing behaviour
  • Procurement challenges
  • Sustainability expectations
  • Technology and AI adoption
  • ROI pressures
  • Accessibility and inclusion
  • Networking and delegate experience
  • Venue marketing and commercial priorities

The findings will contribute towards a new series of International Confex industry reports and future content discussions ahead of International Confex 2027.

Participants can complete the surveys online and opt in to receive the final reports and industry findings later this year. Find out more and take part here: https://www.international-confex.com/venue-trends-reports
