EUROPE – Leading Italian MICE organisations have joined together with the national tourist office to form a new ‘Convention Bureau Italia’.
The project, sponsored by Confesercenti-Assoturismo, Confturismo –Confcommercio, Federalberghi, Federcongressi&eventi, Federturismo-Confindustria, and with the buy in of the represented regions, elected Carlotta Ferrari as the President of Convention Bureau Italia.
“It’s an important milestone, which I do not hesitate to call historic,” said Ferrari. “Finally, Italy, as well as all the other great nations, has a central office coordinating and promoting its rich offer for meetings and events. Just imagine what this means in terms of turnover and economic growth. The story that begins today is really new, and we will do our best to live up to it.”
The new bureau has 30 founding members, including local convention bureaus, congress centres and hotels.
