The 19th edition of the International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC 2025), which organisers are calling the largest international travel trade event in Vietnam and the Mekong sub-region, will run 4–6 September, 2025, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. Organisers say ITE HCMC 2025 will provide “a professional, dynamic, and modern platform for Vietnam’s and the global tourism community to connect, collaborate, and explore business opportunities”.

The expo will bring together tourism businesses from Vietnam and around the world – especially from Mekong sub-region countries – to showcase diverse tourism products, promote strategic partnerships, and exchange innovative ideas to advance sustainable tourism development in the region. The expo will also provide a platform for businesses to explore new products and business models.

More than just a trade show, ITE HCMC will also act as a thought-leadership forum, spotlighting emerging trends and fostering critical dialogue around the future of the tourism industry. Honoured as ‘Asia’s Best Trade Show’ at the 2024 World MICE Awards, ITE HCMC is currently the only tourism expo in Vietnam with an international hosted buyer programme.

This year ITE HCMC 2025 organisers expect to welcome over 520 exhibiting companies and brands, as well as 50 provinces and cities, along with 240 high-level buyers from more than 30 countries and territories. Organisers anticipate over 28,000 visitors and expect to facilitate 12,600 business appointments between international buyers and sellers.

The event is expected to feature 16 key activities, including trade connection events, forums, conferences, and seminars and, in addition to domestic media agencies, there will be coverage from 60 international media outlets, travel bloggers, and key opinion leaders (an increase of 30% compared to 2024).

The Tourism Promotion Organisation for Global Cities (TPO) 12th General Assembly promises to be a major highlight 3-6 September, held in Ho Chi Minh City under the theme ‘Shaping the Future of Tourism: Embracing Digital and Green Transformation’. The TPO was founded in 2002 in Fukuoka, Japan, with the goal of building a network to promote tourism among cities in the region and Ho Chi Minh City is a founding member. TPO has 131 member cities from 17 countries and territories.

Sustainable tourism

ITE HCMC 2025 is not only about raising awareness of sustainable tourism, but will also focus on the creative development of new products and services that meet the growing demand for green and sustainable travel from both international and domestic markets. International buyers and media will join a destination familiarisation programme in Ho Chi Minh City – a special itinerary offering immersive experiences.

ITE HCMC 2025, now in its 19th edition, is hosted in a budget-friendly destination and offers marketing solutions for both domestic and international tourism businesses.

Mr Le Truong Hien Hoa, deputy director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said: “With the theme ‘Sustainable tourism, Vibrant experience,’ ITE HCMC is expected to become a benchmark of innovation and transformation for Vietnam’s tourism industry, especially in today’s highly volatile and challenging global economy, where tourism has been among the hardest-hit sectors. Serving as a strategic gateway, ITE HCMC 2025 brings together tourism associations and enterprises nationwide to foster collaboration, boost competitiveness, and elevate Vietnam’s position as a standout destination in both regional and global markets.”
