Las Vegas Conference Centre appoints Elon Musk's Boring Company for new transport system

As CMW reported 6 March, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) had recommended The Boring Company (founded by Elon Musk) to design, build and operate a vehicle to act as a people carrier for the Las Vegas Convention Centre. Now the deal has been announced and the proposed route for the vehicle will incorporate a loop of underground express route tunnels. The route will potentially be able to connect the Las Vegas Convention Centre, Las Vegas Boulevard and McCarran International Airport with ease. Additional destinations may be incorporated at a later date. As the ongoing expansion of the Convention Centre continues to develop, there is a need for on-site transportation linking the site to the strip, airport and beyond. It has been calculated that delegates who need to walk from one end of the Centre to the other have to walk approximately two miles on average.
