MACEOS appoints new Executive Director

The Malaysian Association of Convention & Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (MACEOS) has announced the appointment of Ms Ho Yoke Ping, as its new Executive Director (ED), effective 1 January 2019. Ms Ho or better known by the industry as Ping, has been charged with injecting fresh perspectives into the long-standing association of 29 years and coming up with strategic plans, including communications, government relations as well as partnership and collaborations. Ping has served the meetings, events and tourism industry for more than 20 years and was part of the founding team of the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB). Under her leadership of nearly a decade, MyCEB has grown in leaps and bounds, particularly in positioning both the bureau and country internationally. Dato’ Vincent Lim, President of MACEOS said: “Ping’s reputation in the industry is formidable and it is an honour to have her on board the Association. With her, we are in the strong opinion that MACEOS will be able to strategically move forward”. Ping added: “I have worked with MACEOS countless times previously and have a good understanding of where the association wants to elevate for both itself and the industry. It is a crucial moment and important for MACEOS to continue to lead in communicating the value of business events to Malaysians and beyond. I am looking forward to contributing my insights and strategic visions to further position MACEOS as the voice”. Ping has held other industry posts including being Chairperson for the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) Malaysia committee. She also played a key role in driving the establishment of the Malaysia Society of Association Executives (MySAE) and the formation of the Business Events Council of Malaysia (BECM).
