AUSTRALASIA – Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) has appointed Helen Fairclough as the new Director of People and Culture, following an international search.
Fairclough will move from the Chevron Corporation head office in California to join MCEC in September.
With more than 25 years’ experience in Australia and internationally, Fairclough’s range of expertise includes people strategy; systems and technology; project and change management; recruitment; shared services; and talent management across a range of industries.
“Helen will be instrumental in our ongoing focus to provide a culture that employees can continue to embrace with pride,” said MCEC Chief Executive Peter King. “We want to be the employer of choice in this industry and while we think we are good now, we need to be great in the future.
“We’ve just finished another great year and while our current strategies are producing results, Helen’s role will see us develop further opportunities to grow the business through our employees and ensure the ongoing focus is to exceed our customers’ expectations,” he added.
