India-based MICE Club gathered 25 industry professionals for a discussion of the new world of safe meetings. The meeting in northern India, was the first physical event for the business networking club and members celebrated with a birthday cake.
Ensuring safe and secure events were the main topics on the agenda. The situation in India is still somewhat unclear post-second wave as to what the future beholds for the MICE business, so even more necessary for eventprofs to gather under the MCL banner to swap experiences and information.
The MCL 1.0 Face to Face Meeting was organised at Queen of Hills, Mussoorie, in Uttrakhand Province, a mountain top destination used by MICE groups. The meeting was supported by Equifax Tourism, Mach Conferences, Domestic Waale and DLS Group of Hotels.
As well as corporate buyers and planners present, there were virtual presentations on the reopening for MICE events, including from CMW managing editor Paul Colston from Mash Media Group and Rohit Jain from Equifax Tourism Dubai.
Welcoming the delegates, Saachin Mannocha, group CEO, Mice Affairs Media Group, stated the vision behind MCL formation and the key objectives of the physical meet. “The idea of this meet is to create a backdrop of safe meetings. Limited numbers, safety and precautionary measures are the tools to execute Safe Meetings. Also, it’s a unique opportunity to shake hands for business transactions at MCL. Let’s move ahead towards restart.”
Rajesh Ambokar, head of administration, Ambuja Cements, shared his corporate inside story during the Corporate Dialogue session and the evening saw the professionals enjoying the weather and hill top locations during a networking dinner at the roof top open air restaurant of Hotel Highland Mussoorie. A cake cutting ceremony was also organised to commemorate the one year of MCL formation.
Casual discussion over the table unveiled several case studies of MICE business and a specially curated session ‘MCL Open House’ provided a knowledge sharing and idea building session for everyone present.
