The 19th ITE HCMC – International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City wrapped up 6 September in Vietnam. Organisers of the show also took the opportunity to show international media just what this booming city on the Saigon River can offer the meetings and incentives market.

An intriguing mix of different cultures, cuisines and architecture meet in and around the bustling city. CMW joined the media group for a series of workshops and experiences with expert guides.

As well as delicious local food and tours by scooter, there was a guided tour of the Chu Chi Tunnel complex – now a museum complex and vivid reminder of the Vietnam war.

The trade show itself – the largest travel event in the Mekong Delta – welcomed over 500 global buyers and suppliers, as well as 28,000 visitors, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC).

Watch out for Simon George’s full report in October’s Conference & Meetings World magazine.
