The UK’s longest-running independent event organiser Montgomery Group, has announced the acquisition of Sustainable Aviation Futures (SAF), a global conference series focused on accelerating the aviation industry’s transition to net zero.
Sustainable Aviation Futures events gather senior decision-makers from across the aviation and energy value chain, from airlines, airports and manufacturers to fuel producers, financiers, policymakers and technology providers. The portfolio of six global congresses is recognised for driving the scale-up of sustainable aviation fuels and development of wider decarbonisation solutions to help the aviation sector achieve its stated goal of net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
With events in Houston, São Paulo, Amsterdam, Dubai, Singapore and Hong Kong, the acquisition of SAF will mark Montgomery Group’s first event in South America. The addition of SAF also strengthens Montgomery Group’s strategy of owning strong niche sectors in high growth markets and developing new event formats with diversified revenue streams.
This deal also builds on the recent acquisition of Halldale Group, which expanded the business into the aviation training, simulation and safety sectors. With this latest acquisition, Montgomery Group will run nine aviation events as part of a global portfolio of 50 events and 11 co-located events.
The first edition under the ownership of Montgomery Group will be the global flagship event SAF Congress, taking place in Amsterdam on 15-17 June 2026. SAF Congress promises more than 1,000 attendees, 50 global partners, 10 content streams and over 250 respected industry speakers.
Damion Angus, chairman and CEO of Montgomery Group, commented: “Sustainable Aviation Futures is a high-quality, globally respected event series that brings together a critical community at a pivotal moment for the aviation industry. This acquisition not only broadens Montgomery Group’s international footprint but also creates exciting opportunities to further develop the brand, scale its reach and introduce new formats to our core offering. We look forward to welcoming the SAF team to the Group.”
Jamie Dowswell, founder and MD of Sustainable Aviation Futures, added: “I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built with Sustainable Aviation Futures and the role it plays in supporting the industry’s decarbonisation journey. Joining Montgomery Group marks an exciting new chapter, and I’m looking forward to continuing to grow the platform as part of the Group.”
