EUROPE – UK-based PR and marketing company, Moulden Marketing, has been appointed as the UK and Scandinavian sales and marketing representation office for the Korea MICE Bureau (KMB), part of the Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO).
For nearly 30 years KMB has worked to provide advice and assistance to those considering holding meetings in Korea, including bid support for associations and congresses.
Moulden Marketing aims to provide international event planners with a “convenient and reliable help desk”, as well as provide marketing and brand development.
Anne Ridyard (pictured), with commercial director experience in media and associations, has been appointed as the Specialist Business Development Manager for Korea.
Gill Moulden, Managing Director of Moulden Marketing says: “We appreciate the trust placed in us and we see marketing Korea as a tremendous opportunity. Korea is a dynamic and diverse destination with both central and regional convention bureaus. They have a developed infrastructure in the regions, as well as the capital Seoul, which offer strong credentials for hosting large scale international events.”
Gill Moulden and Anne Ridyard have just returned from Korea, where they visited the convention facilities: Songdo Convensia, KINTEX, COEX, EXCO, BEXCO and ICC Jeju. They also used their time to understand the logistics around these centres and various hotels with meeting facilities.
Deagu’s EXCO had just concluded the World Energy Congress, where UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon addressed the 6,000-strong audience at the closing ceremony. As part of the congress, 1,300 delegates also attended pre- and post-tours around the six UNESCO heritage areas close by.
“Our partnership with Moulden Marketing aims to create a specialist MICE market base in the UK and Scandinavia,” says the Director of KTO, C.H. Cha. “Its deep understanding of the industry and long established strength of relationships will greatly assist in this next stage in our development: to help provide event planners with a convenient service to assist them in delivering successful events in Korea.”
Ramy Salameh, PR Manger for KTO adds: “Korea is riding the crest of the ‘knowledge economy wave’ in various key industry sectors and as such is in an incredibly strong position to attract delegates who can benefit from seeing new processes in action, so this is the perfect time to use Moulden Marketing’s experience to drive this sector”.
Moulden Marketing will be available to provide meeting and incentive planners with information on running their events in Korea, as well as assisting organisations to find partners in Korea to host international events.
