Leading operator of premium meeting and event venues in the US and UK, Convene, recently celebrated, with 600 guests, the grand opening of its newest New York City venue, Convene 30 Hudson Yards. Located on the 24th floor of the iconic skyscraper, Convene 30 Hudson Yards was designed in partnership with architecture and design firm Woods Bagot.
The theme of the opening event was ‘An Evening Above the High Line’ and event activations included bucket drummers and break dancers from iBucketdrum, in a nod to NYC’s street performers. There was also a live muralist from The Mural Co painting a city-inspired piece of art; musical performances by DJ OOO Child, Hey Love… Collective, and Jazz Cooperative.
Convene 30 Hudson Yards aims to serve what the company believes is increasing demand for large experiential events. The new venue spans 72,000 square-feet and offers 10 meeting spaces with a maximum capacity of just under 1,500 guests. The centrepiece of the venue is a 780-person grand hall, the largest single event space within Convene’s New York City portfolio.
This is the third time Convene and Woods Bagot have partnered to create a high-design meeting and event venue. They previously completed two London projects: Convene Sancroft, St Paul’s and Convene 22 Bishopsgate, both of which have won awards recognising the venue design.
Convene is the largest single provider of dedicated meeting and event venues in the US and UK, and the portfolio of brands has a network of nearly 40 locations across nine global cities.
