Following a €10m investment from Minor Hotels, The Algarve Congress Centre, has opened next to Vilamoura Marina and the Tivoli Marina Vilamoura Algarve Resort. The centre becomes one of Portugal’s largest and most modern facilities for meetings and conferences. The new event space, located in this popular beach destination, comprises 22 rooms over 7,050sqm and offers a total capacity for 3,000 people. The congress centre includes the Fénix plenary room (pictured), plus a 700sqm terrace with 270-degree views over Vilamoura Marina and the Atlantic Ocean. There are additional terraces and a panoramic rooftop, totalling 2,600sqm. The venue’s staff work side-by-side with Tivoli Marina Vilamoura’s team of professionals, allowing guests to benefit from the adjacent hotel’s facilities, including five meeting rooms and an exhibition area. The nearby Lakeside venue offers outdoor event space and banquet capacity of up to 1,050 guests. “It is with great enthusiasm that we welcome the opening of the Algarve Congress Centre, which enhances the guest offering at Tivoli Marina Vilamoura, already one of the most prestigious five-star hotels for holding conferences and events in the Algarve, and also repositions the property as a key player in the MICE market, both in Portugal and Europe,” says Jorge Beldade, regional operations director of the Algarve region. Tivoli Hotels & Resorts is part of Minor Hotels and operates 16 properties in Portugal, Brazil and Qatar. Tivoli is a member of Global Hotel Alliance (GHA), the world’s largest alliance of independent hotel brands.
