On 6 December, the US Travel Association announced that New Orleans has been selected as the IPW host city for 2027. The travel trade show will take place at Ernest N. Morial Convention Centre. Past IPWs have generated more than $5.5bn in future travel by connecting US travel exhibitors with travel buyers and media to promote their products and negotiate future business. More than 90,000 pre-scheduled business appointments are expected to connect 1,600 global travel buyers and press with several thousand U.S. travel suppliers. More than 5,000 travel professionals representing 60+ countries are expected to participate in total.

The event draws around 5,000 delegates, including 1,400 international delegates, for 90,000 scheduled business appointments over three days.

New Orleans last hosted IPW in 2016, and IPW 2027 will be the destination’s fifth time hosting the event. New Orleans and Company additionally has a partnership with the US Travel Association, a national non-profit organisation which promotes travel to and within the United States. “By serving as host site of IPW, each of these world-class cities will play a key role in growing inbound travel and strengthening the U.S. economy,” says U.S. Travel Association president and CEO Geoff Freeman. “U.S. Travel looks forward to working with these diverse destinations to bring the world to America.” “The United States faces intense competition in the race for global travellers,” adds Freeman. “IPW will remain an indispensable tool in attracting international visitors and positioning the United States as the world’s top travel destination.”
