Canada’s BC Pavilion Corporation (PavCo) Board of Directors has announced Rehana Din as the organisation’s new president and CEO, effective 9 May, 2026. The appointment follows longtime president and CEO Ken Cretney’s decision to retire and step down from the role on May 8, 2026. PavCo owns and operates Vancouver venues BC Place and the Vancouver Convention Centre.
“My decision to retire came as the result of tremendous thought and reflection, but the timing is right for both myself and for PavCo. I have spent five decades in the tourism and hospitality industry, including 18 years at PavCo and 12 years as president and CEO. This is a remarkable organisation, full of incredibly talented and passionate people, and I know that Rehana Din is the right person to lead PavCo into the next chapter of its journey,” said Cretney.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I wish to thank Ken for his 18 years of service to PavCo and the people of British Columbia – his legacy will be felt for many years to come,” said PavCo Board chair, Dr Gwendolyn Point. “Our Board also congratulates Rehana, an exceptional leader and our unanimous choice. We have the utmost confidence in her experience, judgement and vision for PavCo.”
Over her 13 years at PavCo, Din has delivered operational improvements and results in senior leadership roles, including as chief financial officer and corporate secretary and, for the past five years, as COO. Her tenure has been marked by improved financial performance and a continued focus on delivering on PavCo’s mandate of generating economic and community benefit for the people of British Columbia.
“Ken has overseen some of the most important conventions, sports, music and cultural events in our province’s history, and we wish him the very best in his much-deserved retirement,” said Anne Kang, minister of tourism, arts, culture and port. “Rehana’s appointment recognises her impact at PavCo, including leading the organisation’s FIFA World Cup 26 journey from the event bid stage onward, and I look forward to continuing our work together to showcase Vancouver and B.C.’s proven ability to host major events, concerts and conventions for the benefit of all British Columbians.”
