German vent marketing specialist VOK DAMS has just launched a new tool to help organisers integrate sustainability measures into their event – SDG Event Compass. Based around the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the tool allows organisers to select specific SDGs and find solutions suited to their event size, type and overall strategy.

SDG Event Compass also enables users to document and measure their sustainability initiatives, so that progress can in turn be reported to investors, customers and partners.

The tool’s process is broken down into five steps: Understand the SDGs: An introduction to the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Select Relevant SDGs: Guidance for selecting the SDGs that best align with a company’s objectives and events.

Define Event Goals: Support in formulating clear, measurable goals directly linked to the SDGs, along with examples of successful implementation. Set Actions and KPIs: The SDG Event Compass includes a comprehensive selection of pre-designed actions and KPIs to help companies measure the success of their sustainable initiatives.

Report and Communicate: Assisting companies in transparently documenting their sustainability performance and communicating their commitment to stakeholders.

VOK DAMS has also released a whitepaper with insights about how companies can meet new regulatory requirements and plan more sustainable events. It is free to download on the VOK DAMS website: vokdams.de
