AMERICAS – A new conference centre in Texarkana, Arkansas, will host the Arkansas Governor’s Conference on Tourism in March 2015. Work on the new US$18m conference centre and hotel began last fall.
It will be the first time the event has been held in Texarkana, and the Texarkana Gazette claims other contenders for the conference included Fayetteville, Rogers and Fort Smith. The conference is expected to attract 1,000 people.
A new $22m convention centre is also being built across the state line in Texarkana, Texas.
