WORLD – Global event management and destination management company (DMC), Pacific World, has launched a new corporate social responsibility programme called ‘Opening Eyes’.
The programme aims to ‘open eyes, open minds and give smiles’, and will encourage delegates to ‘give something back’ to the local community in the destination they are visiting.
Opening Eyes has been designed to benefit local people in the cities where Pacific World organise events. The new initiative will create a platform for delegates and association members to get directly involved with local charities and NGOs and offers a range of activities, which are run as workshops, or as teambuilding exercises, each tailored to contributing to the local community while also creating a fun and memorable experience for participants.
“Opening Eyes is a way for our attendees to make a positive impact on the destinations that they visit; all too often delegates travel to MICE events or congresses and are not provided with the opportunity to give something back to the local community,” says Global Managing Director of Pacific World, Herve Joseph-Antoine. “This new initiative aims to literally open the eyes of attendees and allow them to contribute tangibly towards making a difference.”
“Our Pacific World destinations will be involved, choosing an activity which is unique to their location and will help to make a valuable difference in their local community. This could be, for example, taking three hours out of your day when attending a conference to build bicycles for local children, or working with a charity to plant trees. We will also be organising donation collections at larger conferences and congresses, allowing delegates to contribute at a local level,” he adds.
Pacific World currently delivers event solutions in 17 countries including Spain, Portugal, Greece, France, Monaco, United Kingdom, China, India, Hong Kong, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea and the Southern Africa region.
