Pauline Houston appointed American Express GBT global director of hotel community

American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) has announced the appointment of Pauline Houston as global director of hotel community. She will be based in Scotland. Houston will be responsible for the management of the agency’s hotel community team and for leading American Express’ hotel value proposition, development and delivery. She will also serve as a key member of GBT’s Hotel Value and Revenue Management leadership team and will report to Wes Bergstrom, vice-president, hotel value and revenue management. Houston, who took up her post in January, joins GBT from Carlson Wagonlit Travel, where she was global director of hotel and M&E supplier management. Prior to this, she was a board member at De Vere Hotels & Resorts leading the commercial teams. “I am very pleased to welcome Pauline to the Global Supplier Relations team,” said Bergstrom. “Her passion, experience and ability to execute our hotel strategy will be a great asset to GBT, our clients and key suppliers.” GBT has operations and network partners in nearly 140 countries worldwide with approximately 12,000 employees.
