Over 6,500-person capacity and 1,000 hotel rooms added or in development by 2026
Prague has added several new event venues since early 2024 – and has at least five more projects set for completion in 2025 and 2026. This will create a total added capacity of 6,500 delegates and 1,000 new hotel rooms. The developments serve both the meetings industry and local cultural and gastronomic activities.
Venue upgrades and cultural spaces
Key additions include new spaces at the Prague Exhibition Grounds, such as the green-roofed Křižík Pavilions and renovated Nová Spirála Theatre, offering a total capacity of up to 4,500 people. In 2025, the Prague Planetarium will reopen with new LED dome technology and space for up to 700 guests.
In the surrounding Royal Game Reserve, the long-awaited Šlechta Restaurant is expected to open with three gastronomic spaces and event-ready outdoor areas. Nearby, Holešovice Market Hall will see the Burza restaurant open in the historic Slaughterhouse Exchange building by the end of 2025.
A number of new restaurants and event-ready venues have also opened, including a 300-seat Mexican restaurant, the 200-seat Restaurant 420 and Michelin-starred options near Old Town Square. The Art Nouveau Fanta building at Prague’s main station reopened in early 2024 with two renovated halls hosting up to 600 guests. Smaller spaces such as Station 6 in Bubeneč offer community-focused event rental for up to 200 attendees.
Interactive venues and museums
Interactive and educational venues are also part of the expansion. The Mozart Interactive Museum in Malá Strana opened recently for cultural events, and Hydropolis, a new water-themed education centre with event facilities for 160 people, is due in 2027.
Hotel growth fuelling venue capacity
Prague’s hotel sector is expanding with new meeting space. In 2024, two major openings were the W Prague (161 rooms, three small event spaces) and The Cloud One Hotel (382 rooms, rooftop bar with 160-person capacity).
In 2025, Fairmont Golden Prague Hotel will open with 320 rooms and a conference hall for 600 guests. Also launching are the Sir Prague Hotel (76 rooms) and the Akroterion complex in Železná Street, featuring around 100 rooms, spa, restaurant, and conference space.
Fairmont Golden Prague Hotel visualisation“We’re seeing a major uplift in Prague’s event infrastructure across both venue and hotel development,” said Roman Muška, director of the Prague Convention Bureau. “Spaces like the renovated Fanta building and Prague Planetarium provide exciting new formats for both classic and interactive events,” Muška added.
