Monaco businesses open to the public can now apply for the Monaco Safe certification, a government backed standard designed to instil health confidence in visitors. The Monaco Safe certification is designed for shops, hotels, restaurants, convention centres and all other premises that are open to the public to prove their hygiene standards and boost confidence. The standards required for the certification correspond to the Principality’s current health regulations designed to stop the spread of Covid-19. The Monaco Safe certification is also a strong unifier, open to all and a stamp of approval guaranteed by the State. The procedure for obtaining certification is voluntary and free of charge, and conducted entirely online. The certification process is based on implementation of the health protocols currently in force for each sector, and can be seen here. The scheme is the result of a close collaboration between Monaco’s Department of Health Affairs, responsible for the checks carried out to confirm certification, and the Welcome Office, a dedicated point of contact for the private sector.
