AMERICAS – Québec City will host two US associations in July 2014, bringing the number of international conferences and conventions confirmed for the summer of 2014 to 10.

The Cognitive Science Society and the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) will bring together over 2,000 cognitive science and artificial intelligence specialists at the Québec City Convention Centre for nine days.

The 36th Annual Meeting of the Cognitive Science Society (CogSci 2014) will take place in Québec 23-26 July 2014 after previously being held in Japan and Germany. The AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence 2014 will take place 22-31 July.

These two conferences will be held at the same time as the Organisation for Computational Neuroscience (OCNS) convention already scheduled to take place at the Convention Centre from 19-24 July. OCNS is expected to attract 450 delegates.

“We’re pleased the Québec City Convention Centre has been selected to host these two major conferences,” says Québec City Convention Centre CEO, Michel Bouchard. “Our local economy and hotel industry will reap significant benefits with the creation of 8,000 room nights and an estimated CAN$4m (US $4.02m) in economic benefit.”
