RAI Amsterdam has launched a global pitch to support new event concepts. With the ‘Start up your Event’ pitch, the RAI offers both venue space as well as the knowledge and expertise required for organising events. “Developing a good event concept revolves around many dimensions,” said Denise Capello, head of business development. “In addition to great facilities, issues such as event design, community management and data-driven marketing are also crucial for a powerful concept. This is why we aim to support organisers with our expertise and help them successfully launch their event. For this reason, the pitch is explicitly reserved for first editions or event start-ups.” An international jury of professionals from the events sector will evaluate the submitted concepts. The jury will look at aspects such as value creation for the selected target group/community, brand positioning, feasibility, and the innovation level and opportunities. The winning concept will be held in RAI Amsterdam between 1 October and 1 December 2018. Organisers with a new idea or concept can submit their contribution before 7 September 2017 via www.rai.nl/startupyourevent The initiative was launched today, to coincide with Global Exhibitions Day (GED), an initiative of the international trade association UFI and takes place annually on 7 June. It involves various campaigns worldwide which highlight the value of the exhibition and event industry on a global level.
