SINGAPORE – Reed Exhibitions has stamped its presence on the pop culture events market by acquiring the Singapore Toy, Games and Comic Convention (STGCC).

The event, aimed at fans, showcases popular culture such as comic books, television shows and toys. The show, which launched in 2008, doubled its size last year and grew from two to three days, including a day of conference sessions.

The company already has a dedicated team for pop culture events in North America. Reed’s portfolio contains the New York Comic Con as well as the soon-to-launch Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo.

Group vice president for the Reed Pop Culture Group, Lance Fensterman, said the addition of STGCC to Reed’s stable marks the beginning of its expansion into pop culture events. “This acquisition is the first step in our far-reaching commitment to service pop culture fans all over the world,” he comments.

The next STGCC will run from 10 to 12 December at the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
