Destinations International, a resource for official destination organisations and convention and visitors bureaus, has opened its registration for the 2023 Annual Convention. The event will take place, 18-20 July, 2023 in Dallas, Texas, USA. “We are especially excited to reconvene destinations from around the world in Dallas, Texas for our 2023 Annual Convention,” said Don Welsh, president and CEO of Destinations International. “This annual event offers exceptional educational and networking opportunities for destination organisation professionals and the organisations that support them. Craig Davis and the Visit Dallas team are ready to roll out the red carpet for our attendees and we look forward to welcoming our global industry to Dallas in July.” Craig Davis, president and CEO of Visit Dallas, said: “Coming together with fellow tourism professionals to learn and grow from one another as we continue to invest in the destinations we call home is a highlight of each year. This year we hope you will leave your expectations behind and fall in love with the Dallas we know, one of the most diverse cities in the country, one who welcomes all visitors, and a true world class destination for arts and culture, sports, and the best food you’ll ever have. See you all in July.” The theme of this year’s convention is ‘The Year of Re: Reimagine’ and Destinations International says now is the time to revisit the values of destination organisations through destination stewardship and workforce development programmes to retain top talent. With the ever-changing landscape of destination issues, leaders must work with stakeholders on innovative approaches to crisis response and the evolution of digital marketing platforms. “Starting with our Annual Convention and extending throughout all of our summits and other events, this next year will be about reimagining the work we do,” Davis adds.
