Saudi Arabia will host the 26th United Nations Tourism General Assembly in Riyadh running 7-11 November, the first GCC nation to hold the event. The assembly expects delegates from more than 160 member states.

The five-day programme runs under the theme “AI-Powered Tourism: Redefining the Future” and includes the 124th and 125th sessions of the UN Tourism Executive Council, plenary sessions, the election of the next UN Tourism secretary-general, and committee meetings on statistics, competitiveness, sustainability and affiliate membership.

Saudi Arabia will launch the TOURISE Summit immediately after the assembly, running 11-13 November. The summit brings together leaders from tourism, technology, sustainability, culture and investment sectors.

The assembly takes place during UN Tourism’s 50th anniversary year. Saudi Arabia’s hosting aligns with Vision 2030, the government’s plan to diversify the economy through investments in tourism, culture and digital infrastructure.
