AUSTRALASIA – Sue Hocking, General Manager of Venue, Sales and Marketing for the Royal International Convention Centre (Royal ICC) and Brisbane Showgrounds, has retired after guiding Brisbane’s newest convention centre from its opening to a successful 16 months of operations.
Hocking joined the Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland (RNA) in 2011 bringing with her 25 years of international experience.
“Sue has played a critical role in the success of the Royal ICC and managed the pre-opening set-up of the sales and marketing department and promoted the venue internationally and domestically,” said RNA Chief Executive Brendan Christou. “We have held more than 250 events since opening in April 2013 including major international conferences and national events.
“Her commitment to ensuring exceptional sales service has resulted in high satisfaction among our valued clients resulting in repeat business. We thank her for her efforts and wish her the very best in her retirement,” he added.
Royal ICC National Business Development Manager Sally Pulford will succeed Hocking as General Manager of Venue, Sales and Marketing.
