Four years after welcoming its first conference, Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre in New Zealand is marking a milestone, having hosted more than 865 major national and international conferences, exhibitions and cultural events in four years. The venue has also welcomed 422,000 visitors over the period.

The venue’s success mirrors Christchurch’s own transformation. Over the past four years the city has re‑emerged as a confident, globally connected destination, valued by organisers for its walkability, proximity to accommodation and dining, and access to green spaces and the Ōtākaro Avon River precinct.

Sustainability has been a defining pillar of Te Pae Christchurch’s history. “In just four years, Te Pae Christchurch has established itself among the world’s leading convention centres, delivering events that are operationally excellent, culturally grounded and sustainably led,” says Ross Steele, general manager.

“We’re proud of the role Te Pae Christchurch has played in showcasing our city as a confident, connected and welcoming destination on the international stage.”

Te Pae Christchurch is not only reflecting on its journey so far, but looking ahead with confidence, having gained International Standards ISO 9001 (Quality) & ISO 22000 (Food Safety) accredited, as well as AIPC Quality Standards – Gold Certification.
